Wonderful Rides At Disneyland Paris

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 1276 0

Wonderful Rides At Disneyland Paris

Known as DLP by Mouseketeers everywhere, Disneyland Paris is a wonderful array of rides, exhibits, restaurants and much more. In addition, the park has just added a Walt Disney Studio Park to this location.

Located nineteen miles (32km) out of Paris, many of the well known rides from California are included (with a little French flair of course).

There is the “It’s a Small World” ride and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride based on the two movies and the most popular show “The Lion King” which always sells out so you must buy tickets beforehand.

Other sites include the Star tours in Discovery land which can be educational and fun at the same time and the Big Thunder Mountain in Frontierland is always surrounded by visitors.

New and future activities are being added, such as, the Space Mountain Mission 2 launched in April 2005; the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, which is an improvement to the version in Anaheim and plenty of rides, that have also been adapted, improved or added since DLP opened in 1992.

You can dine at the numerous restaurants within the park which provide wonderful meals in true French tradition. In the Steakhouse, the steaks are thick, the wine endless and the service efficient. At Chef Mickey’s children will enjoy the site of Disney characters dancing about along with the buffet meal.

And for the necessary souvenirs and the like, as with all Disney locations, there are exhibits and shops everywhere you look. You can go to the “Val d’Europe” for additional shopping located not very far from the park. It is a mall of full of stores including a grocery store partly owned by Disney called Aucon. In there, you can purchase a variety of foodstuffs. You may even stop by the local Sephora to get a bottle of French perfume.

For those with small children, rental strollers and baby changing facilities are readily available or you may go to the Baby Care Centre on Main USA which has supplies and facilities.

The hours depend on the season, with summer having longer hours and to be able to go on all the rides and restaurants available, it is best to purchase a day pass. You will avoid the long lines this way. Another option is to get a three day pass which gives you access the park for three non-consecutive days, but it is pretty pricey.

To get from Paris, you take the RER Line, A – Marne-la-Vallee/Chessy Station. If you are going straight from Orly or Charles de Gaulle, there is a VEA shuttle service that takes you to the Disneyland Resort Paris hotels. A shuttle comes by every thirty minutes.

Your French Polynesia Vacation At Vahine Island

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 170 0

A French Polynesia Vacation in an exclusive hideaway paradise called Vahine Island situated on the north side of Tahaa is something that needs to be considered by you this year.

If it is a French Polynesia honeymoon that you are thinking about, or any honeymoon vacation for that matter, then Vahine Island needs checking out, if you are looking for an untouched blue lagoon in French Polynesia for your vacation. This is exactly where Vahine Island is to be found.

The number of guests is deliberately restricted as there are only three overwater bungalows, and six beach bungalows of which three are suites. The beach bungalows are beautifully situated amongst the hibiscus and bouganvillae, and they are all built of local woods and bamboo.

Your French Polynesia Vacation will start when you land at Tahiti International Airport, where you are just a short 35 minute flight from Raiatea Airport. You then are taken by speedboat for the 25 minute ride to Vahine Island.

Vahine Island could best be described as rustic luxury, the whole place and its surroundings almost seem to be in a time warp. It’s a wonderful place to stay, and if you are on your honeymoon vacation then one of the three overwater bungalows should probably be your choice.

Just be aware that there is no air conditioning in your room, which is a good reason for choosing overwater because of the breeze. There is no pool, but honestly who needs one, when you have the most beautiful swimming possible in the crystal clear turquoise sea only feet away, down the stairs and straight into the water.

The overwater bungalows have a platform deck half in the shade, covered, and half, open, in the sun.
Remember to take water shoes because if you stray far from the sandy bottom under the water bungalow you will find coral and sea urchins await you!!

Lots of people use the free kayaks and canoes and snorkelling gear also comes free of charge.

The food at Vahine island is a high spot, and you will dine on world class French cuisine, which is mixed with local exotic flavours and local seafood.

To summarise what you will find at Vahine Island is an unforgettable combination of white-sand beaches, magnificent coconut groves, stunning lagoons and a backdrop of majestic sunsets over Bora Bora .

Be in no doubt that Vahine Island could be not only the perfect French Polynesia destination for you, but even more perfect for your honeymoon vacation.

Visit Seychelles

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 130 0

Everyone thinks of the Seychelles as a winter holiday destination, and Seychelle Island Vacations to one of the increasing number of Seychelles Five Stars Hotels tend to be taken between November and March.

This is the time of the greatest Seychelles rain fall with the heaviest rain being December through to February. It’s therefore a little strange that these are the popular holiday months when the weather isn’t really ideal. I still remember arriving on Praslin almost twenty five years ago in early February to be greeted by grey skies, and a torrential downpour, and it was quite depressing, but that is the price you pay for lush green foliage.

I should add that the rain soon stopped, and the sun came out, then it rained only in the early evening every day!!

One has to assume that people suffer the very long flight because what they get is a lot better than a European winter, but there are other times to consider a Seychelles island vacation.

The slight problem is that summer isn’t perfect either because the tropical trade wind blows from the south east, and this means you rough seas, probably no swimming off the beach, and poor old holidaymaker who has a boat transfer!!

In addition the snorkelling in the Seychelles is normally brilliant but because of the rough seas you can’t see anything at all.

In my opinion if you want the best of all worlds, visit the Seychelles in April or May. If you can avoid the Easter break then you have a great chance of getting a cheap deal to the Seychelles with savings of several hundred Pounds Sterling. The sea is calm, the temperature is about right, and the colours are at their best as the rainy season has only just finished.

So that’s it, for the best deals, the best weather, and the best temperature, visit the Seychelles in April May, missing Easter if you can

Where To Find Real Flamenco In Spain

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 123 0

Perhaps no art form is more strongly associated with Spain than flamenco. The powerfully seductive, rhythmic music of the flamenco player, matched by the vigorously impassioned movements of the flamenco dancer, beguiles tourists and native Spaniards alike.

Its origins steeped in mystery, its complexities and subtleties widely misunderstood, flamenco nevertheless continues to gain fans around the world and to be performed in an increasing number of venues outside of its native land.

It is natural that when tourists visit Spain, many of them are keen to take in at least one flamenco show. Therein lies a problem, though. The true aficianado of flamenco will tell you that the art has been degraded to such an extent that most of what is “on show” in Spain–even in flamenco’s native Anadalucia–is far from authentic.

Even the distorted, touristy version of flamenco viewed by most tourists can be entertaining. If you have never seen flamenco performed live before, and having fun is more important to you than cultural enlightenment, don’t worry about questions of authenticity. Follow your fellow tourists and enjoy yourself.

The primary modern-day setting for flamenco, both the authentic variety and the less so, is the tablao. These are clubs where you can see a show and also have dinner and a drink if you want. Tablaos may be found almost everywhere in Spain, having developed out of the so-called singing cafes popular in the latter 19th and early 20th centuries.

Although it’s not a guarantee, to find authentic flamenco in Spain you would do well to avoid the places where the other tourists are going. This means you will need to ask locals, such as hotel staff, where you should go to experience the real thing.

The following are recommendations of a few flamenco venues you might want to check out on your visit to Spain. Although they differ greatly from one another in atmosphere, entry cost, and quality of amenities such as food, you can be reasonably sure that any one of these will provide you with an authentic flamenco experience.

Cafe de Chinitas, near Plaza Santo Domingo. You can have dinner while you watch the performance or opt for just a drink. Catering to tourists as well as locals, the shows are extravagant but the flamenco is real.

El Corral de La Moreria, in the Las Brisas area. Now more than 50 years old, it has earned a worldwide reputation for showcasing the best flamenco artists in Spain.

Torres Bermeja, in Calle Mesoneros Romanos just off the Gran Via. Often less crowded than the two above, this tablao offers quality flamenco performances in a setting that some may find more relaxing.

Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, in the city center near the southern end of Las Ramblas. This club has been going strong since 1970, garnering international prestige for its flamenco presentations. Performances take place upstairs and dinner is available.

Tarantos, at Plaza Reial 17. One of the oldest tablaos in Barcelona, Tarantos has a reputation for presenting only the best flamenco artists. Be sure to check their schedule before going, though, because they alternate flamenco nights with evenings devoted to jazz or other types of music.

Casa de la Memoria, Barrio de Santa Cruz area. No food or drink here; instead, this club delivers flamenco in its purest form. The dance setting is a lovely Andalucian style patio in an 18th-century palace. There’s an entry fee of about 12 euros, and the the two nighttime performances sell out fast. Therefore you should go to the club during the day to buy your tickets in advance.

La Carboneria, in a narrow back street called Calle Levies, and marked by a red door without signs (you’ll definitely need to ask directions). This is a bar-type place offering flamenco shows and no cover charge; food and drink are available at reasonable prices.

Casa Anselma, in the Triana area of Seville. When you come to Casa Anselma, be prepared for flamenco that breaks out spontaneously and is often unrehearsed. But don’t worry, this is the good stuff–the owner, Anselma, is a highly acclaimed flamenco performer in her own right. Things really get going around midnight. There’s no cover charge; Anselma and the performers make their money from the sale of drinks.

Pub Flamenco Albero y Arte, Calle Vicente Ibanez. Although most people think that flamenco means the dance, the name refers properly the musical style. Here’s one venue where the focus is on the music; you’ll find singing and guitar playing but usually no dancing. It’s authentic, though, even if on the odd side–performances take place in a mock bullring.

These recommendations for places where you can enjoy authentic flamenco in Spain are just a smattering of the choice that awaits you. If you find yourself in a city not mentioned above, and want to seek out a satisfying flamenco show, just ask around. The locals will know.

Where To Go For Fun In Milan

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 122 0

If you’re thinking of visiting Milan, you can find lots of fun things to do during your stay. Milan is a fashion forward city, with young, ambitious people who love to party at the clubs, shop for fine couture, drink lattes in the street cafes, with some of the best Italian cuisine.

Milan is a friendly, bustling city whose culture is based on the historical significance of the artwork and statues you see everywhere you go.

Here are some of the favorite things to do in Milan. At the historical heart of Milan sits the Piazza del Duomo. The famous cathedral, or the Dome as Italians call it, is a beautiful sight. It recently underwent renovation and now provides a rooftop walk that allows the visitor to overlook the city in a way not possible otherwise. You cannot help but notice the historical statues and artwork found all around the Piazza. Directly in the center of the Piazza facing the Duomo is the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II. Inside the cathedral, one of the nails from the crucifixion of Christ is illuminated.

If you go to the plaza during the day, you’ll see Milanese bustling about, pigeons everywhere, and nearby shopping and cafes. You may even run into the occasional pickpocket and street hustler trying to sell you some form of tourist trinket or memorabilia. Regardless, this is a spectacular place to “people watch”.

The core of the fashion district in Milan is definitely Via Montenapoleone. Luxurious boutiques of top Italian and international designers, antique shops, and tearooms are the physical proofs of Milan’s status of Europe’s fashion capital.

Via Montenapoleone is the most important street of the Milan’s Fashion District, called in Italian “Quadrilatero della moda” made of Via della Spiga, Via Manzoni, Via Sant’Andrea and Via Montenapoleone. All major Italian fashion designers have their main shops here: Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Kenzo, Krizia, Prada, Valentino, Versace, Vuitton or Zegna.

Corso Como is the place for nightlife in Milan. This is the hot spot for clubs, bars, and restaurants. Models are found in all of these clubs dressed to kill. Because Milan is a fashion city, chic fashion and trendy club wear is expected at these clubs.

Great nightlife can be found in Navigli, a river area in southern Milan. You can walk through the streets and find bars, discos and restaurants. They shut down the streets in late spring and summer and you can sit in the middle of the street with friends and chat. Happy Hour is bustling from 6pm to 9pm with folks straight out of work meeting friends for a drink.

Le Meridien Gallia Hotel is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Milan’s renowned Piazza Duca d’Aosta. The Duomo Cathedral, Santa Maria Delle Grazie, La Scala Theatre and the Fairgrounds are some of the tourist attractions nearby. With impeccable room service and an on-site restaurant and bar, Le Meridien Gallia is considered one of the premier hotels in all of Italy.

The tropical Indonesian island of Bali is still attracts millions of tourists every year. Tourists on vacations to Bali are attracted by the mystique, charms and allure of the predominantly traditional Hindu culture, spectacular tropical jungles, mountains and beautiful beaches. Many tourists especially from nearby Australia and Singapore travel to Bali for scuba Diving. The islands in Bali are well known for its excellent scuba diving locations.

Scuba divers in Bali can expect to encounter awesome underwater landscape as well as sighting a very wide array of marine sea creatures. Let’s visit some scuba diving Bali dive spots.

In Nusa Penida and Lembongan Islands, there are spectacular drop off reefs making reef and wall diving the predominant staple on these two scuba diving locations. It takes about a 45 minute speedboat ride to reach these dive destinations.

Water visibility is excellent all year round but the current here is stronger. Experienced divers will love it here as they can enjoy some drift dives. However, the current may get very strong occasionally and dives may have to be abandoned when this happens.

The dive sites at Nusa Dua and Sanur are just 5 minutes away from the coast and therefore easily assessable. The novice divers will love these dive spots because of the gentle current. Water visibility ranges from low to moderate since they are located in the coastal area and are more affected by pollution. Although hard coral life is limited, the dive spots have a surprisingly diversity of marine fishes, soft corals and sponges which are thriving on the reefs.

There is a very wide variety of corals, colorful sea fans and huge pelagic fishes here. Big schools of sweet lips fish, turtles, sharks and manta rays are often sighted by excited scuba divers.

Jemeluk and Amed Beaches are one and half hour away from Denpasar. Denpasar is a popular tourist coastal town with many wonderful hotels, resorts and night entertainment. Scuba divers need to be very experienced as the current here can get very strong. However the dives here can be very exciting because of long coastal reefs, reef slopes/drop offs and majestic wall diving. Water visibility can be considered as moderate to good. To add a final touch, these dive spots have one of the best hard coral communities in Bali.

The Tulamben Wreck Dive is a must dive spot for scuba divers to enjoy wreck diving. The water visibility here is fair to good and the current is gentle. Night dive on this wreck are often described as breathtaking.

The wreck, USS Liberty which met its fate in 1942 when a Japanese torpedo fired from a submarine in the second world war found its target.

The above are just some of the many splendid scuba diving destinations in Bali. For more superb dive sites, just contact the many scuba diving operators in Bali Island.

Any travel agent worth their salt will ask a client interested in a luxury travel vacation what kind of travel they are interested in. Based on the traveler’s experience and personal preferences, the travel agent will recommend independent travel, guided tours or a cruise. One of my personal favorites is the cruise experience.

A cruise is perfect for travelers interested in getting the best value, looking for convince and interested in a variety of operators and itineraries.

Value of Luxury Vacations

When pricing out a cruise, keep in mind that the price includes a lot of amenities and extras that guided tours and independent travel packages may not include. Of course, the price of your cruise includes accommodations, but they also include all food. Each cruise provider is a bit different in the dining options they provide, but rest assured that there are basic dining options available that are included in the price. Some cruise lines will include beverages, although each cruise provider differs. Your price also includes on board entertainment. From movies under the stars, instructional classes, ice cream socials and nightly shows, your cruise line will guarantee something to entertain everyone.

Convenience of Luxury Vacations

If you are interested in doing a grand tour of Europe, the travel from each country can be a drag. How can you enjoy the ambience and relaxation that your trip is supposed to be when you are constantly rushing to the next destination? Cruises simplify this process by allowing you to visit numerous ports, without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Plus, you never even realize all the traveling you do. You simply wake up in a new port. No matter if you wish to explore the coast of Italy, or if you would like to explore each continent on a luxury world cruise, there are plenty of ways cruising makes your travel experience more convenient.

Variety of Luxury Vacations

Some people often rebuff suggestions of cruising because they leave only on specific travel dates. However, the cruising industry has grown in the last few years by leaps and bounds. With over thirty cruise lines offering several itineraries that create the perfect luxury travel vacation, there have never been more options. With cruises going all over the world, even to destinations such as Antarctica, travelers can find the perfect cruise to the perfect destination at any time!

Visit Fiji

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 122 0

Fiji is probably one of the few places you would name when you are asked what tropical exotic destination would you like to visit.

It is also not as many of us had first thought, just an island. Do you realize there are 333 islands that go to make up Fiji, and they are all different. Fiji is in fact an archipelago, and it stands at the crossroads of the South Pacific. The main island which is called Viti Levu sees the arrival of nearly 100 international flights every week, with most of the tourists arriving , and then taking a short flight of between 7-10 minutes or longer up to an hour to take them to one of the many offshore island resorts.

Where you go, and what you do is very much up to you. You can find real excitement or peace and quiet. You can surf the Cloud Breaker at Tavarua, scuba dive the White Wall, snorkel over giant rainbow gardens of soft coral.

You can fall in love with the smiles and welcome of the people, the hollow log drums beating a welcome, wear flowers in your hair, and be like the local people. If you want to you can just float in the calm turquoise waters of a lagoon, or just idle your day away in a lush tropical rainforest. Yes it does rain, and heavily too!!

A Fijian rainbath is a joy in itself, when the tropical downpour begins, rush outside with everyone else and feel the warm torrential rain, enjoy it, because it never lasts for long.

The choice of island resorts is incredible from Matangi Island and Horshoe Shaped Beach, Namenalala Island, Vanua Levu and the Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands resort, to Taveuni Island the soft coral capital of the world, Vatulele Island Resort, The Wakaya Club, The Yasawa Islands, to name a few.

Go there, experience it, you only live once and Fiji is the place to live it.

Sydney The Best Tourist Attraction

Posted By : Atlas Tours/ 104 0

Sydney, Australia is one of the world’s best travel destinations. It is home to some of the finest restaurants, wineries, and beaches. A trip to Sydney would not be complete without seeing the fabulous Sydney Harbor showcasing the famous Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Sydney is known for having the friendliest people, so you’ll feel right at home. Perhaps that is why Sydney has been voted the best city in the world for visitors six consecutive years.

Hunter Valley Wineries
Australia’s oldest, most visited wine region is an easy two-hour drive from Sydney. There are about 120 wineries to visit. Part of the fun is discovering an excellent wine that you can’t buy just anywhere. There’s nothing like tasting a wine on the site where the wine was made and with the person who made it.

The Hunter Valley is also well known for its gourmet restaurants, all of which make good use of the local produce. Hunter Valley beef, duck, cheeses, olives, stone fruits and honey are all found in the area. There are also lots of things to do, from touring wine cellars to relaxing in luxurious day spas.

Sydney Harbor

Sydney sits on one of the most beautiful harbors in the world. The harbor provides the perfect backdrop for sailing, swimming, fishing, jetboating, dining, and harbor tours by ferry or seaplane.

Climbing the Harbor Bridge is also a favorite for tourists, which takes you from the base to the summit of the famous bridge’s arch.

If you’re looking for a more leisurely tour of Sydney, a Harbor cruise is the perfect scenic adventure. Short Harbor cruises will allow you to do some sightseeing for an hour or so. The sunset dinner cruises offer a romantic dinner for two while listening to the world’s most popular arias from the Opera House.

Regardless of how you choose to see the sights, Sydney Harbor offers exciting adventures, relaxing tours, and one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Opera House
The Opera House nestled in Sydney Harbor is an architectural wonder! You can take a walking tour of the famous theater with a knowledgeable guide, or attend one of the many performances held at Sydney’s Opera House. They even offer a backstage tour of the Opera House so you can stand on stage and meet the performers, stars, and staff.

Sydney Accommodations
When staying in Sydney, you’ll find fantastic accommodations. Two of my favorites are the North Sydney Harbourview Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour.

The Harbourview Hotel has spectacular views of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the city’s skyline. Known for its uncompromising service, the Harbourview is close to tourist attractions like the Taronga Zoo and the Bridge Climb.

The Sheraton’s Four Points overlooks the Darling Harbour and is minutes from all the best tourist attractions in Sydney. You’ll be right in the thick of the entertainment and dining center of Sydney. Don’t forget to stop in the hotel’s restaurant for an elegant seafood buffet. You won’t want to miss it.

Sydney Beaches
With over 240 days of sun and clear blue skies, you cannot leave Sydney without visiting one of the sprawling sandy beaches. The coast line of New South Wales has miles of unspoiled beaches perfect for swimming, surfing, coastal walks and scenic drives. Some of the most popular Sydney beaches include Byron Bay, Coffs Coast, Bondi, Ballina, Port Macquarie and Crescent Head.

No matter which activities interest you, there will be endless fun and adventurous things to see in Sydney Australia. If you’re planning on visiting Sydney, make sure to plan enough time to see all the culture and history this city has to offer.
